Alina Saif
Biography
Alina serves as a Study Abroad Specialist on the Brown Study Abroad Team where she brings a rich background in international education and global service to her role. In this position, she supports students through both personalized advising and the administrative processes that make studying abroad possible.
Before coming to Brown, Alina worked at the United Nations Road Safety Fund in Geneva and with AlephYa Education and Global Schools Foundation in the UAE. She served as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Daegu, South Korea, where she taught at a local secondary school and worked with North Korean defector students through the Hana Foundation. As an undergraduate, she founded an international teaching program in Mongolia as Program Director for Learning Enterprises, and studied abroad in Copenhagen through the DIS program - an experience that inspired her to become a Study Abroad peer mentor and cemented her dedication to international education.
Alina holds a Master's in International and Development Studies from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics and Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. Having grown up across the United States and the Middle East, she brings a firsthand understanding of navigating life across cultures and a genuine passion for helping students do the same.
