Biography
Jocelyn has been supporting the Brown in Washington program since August of 2023. She is responsible for strategic planning and for providing students with an engaging study away experience in our nation’s capital. Her commitment to working with young people on their personal and professional goals has been a consistent theme during her career. At Brown, she advises and mentors service-oriented students as they learn about professional pathways. After obtaining her PhD at the University of Michigan, she held two faculty positions in the state of Texas and managed the youth programming at a D.C.-based nonprofit focused on women's leadership development.
An avid reader, researcher, and writer, Jocelyn's interests outside of student success include storytelling, transnational feminist theory, and intercultural contact. She published her dissertation as a book with the University of Nebraska Press and is currently writing a second book that documents what she has learned from working with students.
