Biography

Mai Hunt Cesaro '19 M.A., '22 Ph.D. is the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Research Programs. Prior to returning to Brown, Mai served as Program Manager for research, evaluation, and professional development at the Modern Language Association. In this role, she developed a variety of professional development opportunities for students, faculty, and higher education staff, including managing the MLA’s Institutes on Reading and Writing Pedagogy at Access-Oriented Institutions. Her 10+ years of experience in education include teaching K-12, college, and adult learners as well as mentoring English Teaching Assistants at the Fulbright Commission of Spain. Mai earned her B.A. in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies here at Brown. In her free time, Mai enjoys quality time at home with her cats, Muffin and Millie, as well as baking, karaoke, and hiking trails around New England.
