Jordan Rockford
Biography
As the inaugural Assistant Dean for Brown|RISD Programs, Jordan directs the Brown|RISD Dual Degree program, advising BRDD students and overseeing their academic progress. He manages program communication with colleagues at both Brown and RISD, and works with faculty department heads and concentration advisors, as well as key student support officers at both institutions. He supports BRDD programming and the cross-registration process between Brown and RISD.
Previously, Jordan was Assistant Director for Academic Advising at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where for many years he was also an Adjunct Assistant Professor, teaching courses in the history & theory of photography. As an independent curator, Jordan has brought work by artists from Mexico, Israel, and Cambodia to the U.S. and has developed exhibitions for the University of the Arts, Penn State University, the William Way LGBT Community Center, and the Delaware Art Museum. He has published essays in the contemporary photography magazines Aint–Bad and GUP, and was a community murals design consultant for Mural Arts Philadelphia. Jordan holds a BFA in Photography from the University of the Arts and an M.Litt. in Art History from the University of St Andrews, Scotland.
