Academic Coaching for International Students

The International Advising Team offers academic coaching support through one-on-one appointments and small group cohorts, supporting all undergraduate international students to unlock their academic potential, set their goals, develop academic skills, and improve their personal well-being.

Our coaching program is part of AcCESs@Brown, a collaboration between the peer coaching program at the Division of Athletics and the peer coaching services at the Curricular Resource Center. International students may choose to be matched with the International Student Advising Staff Coach, as well as CRC and Athletics Peer-Coaches.

We’ll be having a conversation(s) that involves setting goals, making progress on them, and figuring out what feels right for YOU academically. This is a collaborative space for us to show up as our authentic selves with you in the driver’s seat.

  1. Discuss what's going on now: What's working and what can be improved with your general and academic habits?
  2. Explore your options: Explore the endless amount of choices that can be made to improve overall academic wellness and/or specific class performance
  3. Design a plan: define specific steps, goals and resources available that you’d like to take until the next meetings. The next session will involve an open conversation on how goals are progressing, in the ways expected and unexpected!
